What we collect, why, and what we do not do with it. It is short because the site collects little.

Effective 20 August 2026

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do with it. It is short because the site collects little.

What we collect

  • What you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we hold your message and your address so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
  • Engagement details. If you use the teardown service, we hold what you tell us about the unit, the report we produce, and billing records.
  • Ordinary server logs. Requests to this site are logged with an address and a timestamp, which is what keeps the service running and abuse visible.
  • An age acknowledgement. Confirming you are 21 or older stores a flag in your own browser. It is not sent to us and it does not identify you.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics records that a page was viewed, from roughly where, on what kind of device. See the analytics section below.

What we do with it

We use it to answer you, to perform work you have asked for, to invoice, and to keep the site working. That is the whole list.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google an address, a rough location and what you looked at. We use it to understand whether anything here is landing, and for nothing else.

Most browsers can block it, and any tracker-blocking extension will. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or share mailing lists. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not build profiles for advertising, and we do not use analytics to target anyone.

If you ask to hear about a future product, we keep your address for exactly that and use it for nothing else.

Who else sees it

Only the providers needed to operate: our payment processor for any transaction, Google for the analytics described above, and the infrastructure this site runs on. Email you send us is handled by our own mail system. We disclose information to anyone else only where the law requires it.

Data from a teardown

A forensic image of your device's storage may contain anything the device recorded. We treat it as confidential, we work from a copy, and we return or destroy the image at your request once the engagement is closed. We do not publish anything identifying you or your unit without your explicit agreement.

How long we keep it

Correspondence and engagement records are kept while they are useful and while the law requires. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including to know what we hold, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Write to us and we will act on a request.

Children

This site is for adults aged 21 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age, and we delete it if we discover we have.

Changes

We may update this policy by posting a revised version here, with the effective date above.
